Driving excellence in Ophthalmology: veonet clinicians at leading international congresses in 2024

At veonet, we believe that providing top-tier patient care requires a commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation. Part of this commitment is demonstrated with our strong presence at some of the world’s most well-known ophthalmology congresses, including the ones organized by the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) and the European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA). These events gather specialists from around the globe, presenting veonet clinicians with unique opportunities to stay at the forefront of advances in ophthalmology, share their own pioneering research, and foster professional connections within the field.

This year, our experts from veonet clinics across Europe, including specialists from Miranza, SpaMedica, Ober Scharrer Gruppe, VISTA Gruppe, and eyescan have actively contributed through instructional courses, symposiums, free papers, and chaired sessions that covered a broad spectrum of topics critical to advancing eye care.

ESCRS 2024: Showcasing expertise and innovation

The 42nd ESCRS Congress, held from September 6th to 10th in Barcelona, provided an invaluable platform for veonet clinicians to present their latest research and clinical findings in cataract and refractive surgery. More than 20 veonet specialists engaged across various formats, including 20 instructional and didactic courses, 12 specialty and surgical sessions, 7 societies and main symposia, 6 free papers and case reports and 12 presented and e-poster presentations. Their contributions reflected our network’s expertise in key areas such as presbyopia correction, myopia prevention, glaucoma and complex refractive cases management.

EURETINA 2024: Advancing knowledge in medical and surgical retina

Following ESCRS, veonet was again at the center of innovation at the EURETINA Congress, held from September 19th to 22nd, also in Barcelona. This annual event focuses on advancements in retinal science and attracts delegates worldwide. Veonet clinicians shared their expertise through 2 Euretina sessions, 3 symposia, 9 free papers and e-posters, 8 instructional courses and 5 chaired sessions, covering important topics such as retina health and treatment strategies, adult myopia and correlated complications, diabetic macular edema, and the latest treatments for age-related macular degeneration.

A standout session featured Dr. José García Arumí, who presented on Tips to Organize an Effective and Patient-Friendly Practice: The Example of IMO.” This insightful presentation showcased the pioneering practices at our IMO Miranza Barcelona clinic, where patient care is very much streamlined for operational efficiency, exemplifying veonet’s commitment to patient-centered innovation.

Networking and collaboration: Building stronger connections across veonet

These congresses offer much more than just educational sessions; they serve as hubs for connection, collaboration, and professional growth. Coinciding with these two main congresses in Barcelona, veonet hosted two events which provided a networking space for our clinicians to engage in meaningful conversations and share experiences. These gatherings enabled our professionals across Europe to strengthen bonds, share insights in different specializations, and discuss future opportunities for collective growth.

These informal yet impactful exchanges contribute to veonet’s commitment to an integrated approach in patient care, driven by both clinical excellence and collaborative spirit.

As we continue to participate and actively contribute to international congresses, we remain focused on fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration that benefits both our teams and the patients we serve. Engaging in these global forums not only allows our clinicians to stay informed of the latest research and techniques but also empowers them to drive advancements that improve patient outcomes. By sharing insights and experiences in these highly attended sessions, our clinicians help shape the future of ophthalmology while also building networks that enhance cross-border knowledge-sharing and innovation within our own veonet community.
